What Brine does
Brine plans your household’s dinners for the week. You say or type what kind of week it is, such as “quick tonight, something nicer Saturday, the kids are out Thursday”, and Brine picks the dinners. It brings back dinners you loved and writes new recipes for the people eating and what’s already in your kitchen.
From the plan it builds one shopping list, sorted by aisle, with real pack sizes, leaving off what you already have. When it’s time to cook, cooking mode shows one step at a time in large type, with timers on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. After dinner, Brine asks how it went and remembers what matters for next time.
Why we built it
Deciding what to make, checking the fridge, writing a list and finding a recipe that suits everyone takes more time than the cooking. Most recipe apps give you more recipes to choose from. Brine takes the choosing away: it knows your household’s allergies, likes and dislikes, your kitchen and your schedule, and does the planning for you.
How it’s made
Brine is a native iPhone app built in SwiftUI. Recipes and plans are written by AI models from OpenAI, with Anthropic as a backup, using only the household details each recipe needs. Voice is turned into text on your iPhone, so audio never leaves your phone.
We don’t show ads, use tracking or analytics tools, or sell data. The privacy policy explains exactly what we keep and why.
Who it’s for
Brine is for households who cook at home most nights: couples, families with children, and anyone sharing a kitchen. A household shares one plan, one shopping list and one kitchen on one subscription, and each person’s allergies and tastes go into every recipe.
It is iPhone only for now and needs iOS 26 or later. You can find it on the App Store, where you’ll see the current price and whether you can get a free trial.
